Why sw Sydney?
Young people 13-18 in south west Sydney are brilliant, creative, and diverse, with powerful ideas and insights. We are already here, in our schools, families, and communities, but our voices, ideas and experiences are rarely heard or taken seriously.
And let’s be real: we’re carrying a lot. Racism and discrimination, mental health stuff, housing insecurity, climate impacts, unemployment – all made worse by systems that were never built for us.
We know what is best for us and our communities, and how we can come together to create a better future. But too often, we get overlooked or underestimated – especially if you’re a young person from migrant, First Nations or culturally diverse background, or have lived experience of state care or the criminal legal system.
We’re stereotyped, dismissed, or just straight-up left out of decisions about our own futures. No one’s given us the time, resources, or support to lead change for our communities – on our own terms.
That’s where Spark Youth Hub comes in.
We know young people in South West Sydney already have what it takes to build a better future for our communities. Spark’s here to connect young people across the south west, build skills, and spark change – together.
If you’ve ever felt dismissed, or shut out of decisions about your future – Spark is for you. A space designed with young people, not just for us.
